The Shaffers had fun
We played in the sun
First came a baby
A red-headed one maybe
Windy’s music talents expand
“Tubby the Tuba” solo in band
Activities like soccer, Scouts and daily strife
Make us wish for a simpler life
Ben in a car crash
On the mad dash
To make the long trip
For an out of state internship
The old van caught fire
It had to expire
Just as fast as we can
We got a new van
We spent the summer away
We got to play
With old friends and new
How the time flew
It was nice to be home
But oh the sad tome
It was the “Summer of the Breaking”
We had to a lot of repairs to be making
A new air conditioner, sliding door
Ice maker and more
Then came the “Fall of Bugs”
We cleaned all the rugs
Gwendy smiles all day
While Addy’s at play
Big girls in school, piano and ballet
Girl Scouts and don’t forget Activity Days
Ben’s almost done
School is still fun
Baby still small
But can crawl
Happy Holidays to you
We bid you adieu
